How Does a DC-DC Converter work in Tehered Drone Power Supply System
Backup batteries are connected to the DC-DC converter's output. If the output is interrupted, the batteries will supply power. In normal mode, the batteries do not continuously supply power to the drone.
Current Logic's drone seies converters are designed for tethered drone, light and compact, some with IP68 grade, letting UAVs achieve long operating time, even 24 hours continuos flight in theory. This is also called tethered drone system.
Normal drones can only carry small batteries itself, so most drones can only fly for 1-2 hours at most. But sometimes we would need them to hang on for a longer time, we will let the drone carry a tether cable with one end attached to a large battery bank on groud. In this way, they can get continuos power supply.
Tethered drone power system changes a normal drone into a tehtered one: Mount a 400V to 60V converter on drone. High voltage power supply (for example 400VDC) will transfer from battery bank on ground. Then transfer to Current Logic's converter on the drone will convert the high voltage to 60V DC to power the drone and the devices on board.
